Biography
Alyssa believes that we all have it within us to live a happy and fulfilled experience. Many times, though, life can convince us that discouragement, anxiety, and depression are our fate. Through a strengths-based and supportive approach, she has made it her life’s mission to help clients tap into their own superpowers to face their own unique challenges head-on. In a session, Alyssa works to create a safe and encouraging environment where clients can vent, learn, and be their genuine selves without judgement or discouragement.
Alyssa graduated from Cedar Crest College (Allentown, PA) with a B.A. in Social Work and the University of Michigan with a M.A. in Social Work. She has integrated personal experience, education, and additional training to provide therapy in individual, couples/family, and group settings. She has experience working with adults, particularly those who are justice-involved and military veterans.
Alyssa lives in Canton, MI with her daughter (Katie), son (Logan – aka Loki), and hound dog Schuyler (who you will likely have a chance to see at some point throughout treatment). When she’s not with clients, Alyssa can be found serenading her children with the Broadway hit “Hamilton”, re-watching any number of superhero movies, listening to her unique blend of favorite music, or working on her latest woodworking project.
