Biography
Olivia is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) who graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of
Science in Behavioral Neuroscience from Grand Valley State University. Olivia has helped clients grow and find emotional healing in a community mental health setting, university setting, and in private practice. She believes in looking at one’s entire lived experience in order to promote self-awareness and self-compassion.
Olivia believes the key to effective therapy is to cultivate a strong therapeutic alliance. The central component to her work with clients is to identify their strengths and set therapy goals that are motivating and exciting for them. She works to cultivate a comfortable and welcoming environment where people can be their authentic selves and are empowered to start the process of healing and change. Olivia works with clients from a variety of therapeutic approaches such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavior therapy, and Adlerian.
Olivia offers individual psychotherapy for children, couples, adolescents, and adults. Olivia has had success helping clients who are struggling with a variety of issues, including trauma, life transitions, sexual violence, personality disorders, OCD, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, depression, and anxiety.
Olivia lives in the Lansing area and enjoys running with her golden retriever, cycling, hiking, skiing, and spending time with friends and family.
