Biography

Kim believes that everyone is the expert of their own life experience. She provides space for her clients from their problems so they can access existing skills, knowledge, values, and abilities. They can change their relationship with their problems while gaining a sense of power and control within their lives.

Utilizing a respectful, non-blaming, and empathetic approach, Kim aims to help people better understand meaningful areas of their life that bring purpose, identify opportunities for change, and grow past their current struggles. From both personal and professional experience, Kim believes that the unique process of therapy can help create meaning by recognizing how our personal values and beliefs guide our thoughts, behaviors, and sense of connection with ourselves and the world around us.

Kim has experience working within both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings and has supported clients in group therapy as well as individual and family sessions. Kim was raised in Ferndale, MI and currently resides with her partner in Haslett, MI.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Oakland University in 2014 and Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in 2018. When not in the therapeutic setting, Kim enjoys writing, running 5Ks, taking on new craft projects, and spending quality time exploring local trails and nature preserves.
